FROM THE LOCKED FILES OF THE ALLEGORY SOCIETY...MEMO FROM THE OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR
Updated: Mar 1, 2018
Office of the Director, Mr. Pendulum
Date: February 1, 1882
To: All active Allegory Society operatives
As per executive order from the office of the President in Washington, previously locked case files brought to a satisfactory conclusion from the close of the Second War Between the States in 1875 to those concluded through 1881 will be made available to Miss Nied Darnell.
Miss Darnell has been charged with turning these files from a collection of dry facts into accounts to rival those created by the yellow page hacks of Beadle and Adams and Smith and Smith nickle and dime novel publishers. Considering she has previously made her living spinning such folderol, one must suppose that she knows her business.
The President believes these accounts will boost the morale of the American people by showing our brave and daring operatives' doing their country proud. We can only hope Miss Darnell does our courageous and diligent men and ladies justice.
As Miss Darnell has been scatterbrained when it comes to committing herself to a firm schedule on the release of these depictions, they will be available to the literate in serialization, not unlike is found in the story papers, or newspapers.
I urge any operative who was engaged in a case during the stated years to find reasons why their current cases keep them away from Allegory Society headquarters should Miss Darnell seek to learn details not already covered in the file documentation itself. In the event you wish to dodge her, a ridiculous photograph that she herself supplied accompanies this dispatch.
